You are using it! Just go and post away, girl! What is your first name? Are you married, etc? What is your favorite craft to do? I am Deb. Most of us are more "mature" on this board. My way of saying we are older than 50..lol. I like to scrapbook and rubber stamp and make jewelry. I just haven't had time and/or discipline to craft lately. Welcome to the boards! My name is Dianne and I am in Cape Coral Florida. I am still working full time, plus a part-time job at this point but hope that will change soon. I love to cross-stitch, sew and have recently gotten into scrapbooking. I will be 60 this year and never seem to have enough time for anything. I usually make any new babies that I hear about in my circle of friends and family a special bib with their name on it. In another email I will ask if anyone has the book that I have worn out so that perhaps I can buy it from them. I am at work right now and forgot to bring the book and I cannot remember the name. I have 8 grandchildren right now and one more will be born sometime in May. I am married to the same man for over 41 years.

You've got it! The best way is probably to wander about, reading what others have to say and drop into photobuckets to see what we're doing. Feel free to insert your own comments. There are some very talented folks here who are all willing to share, not only their talents and ideas but their thoughts and emotions. You'll find a very suppportive group interested in others rather than just themselves. Did I mention friendly??? Jenx Jenx’s PhotoBucket

WELCOME DIANNE & JUDY Dianne, i've heard some lovely things about you and hope you can join me, jenx, cathy and joan next weekend. I'm sooo excited about going south to see you gals, if we craft or just chat, it'll be a great weekend for me. I love meeting new people especially ones i've gotten to know from the boards. I'm not quite in the 'older' group but only a year or so behind....but age isn't anything between us...family is family, right girls? As for crafting, my favorite is in the kitchen, we don't have a 'section' for that yet (i'm hoping it will evolve soon) cooking (making up recipes as i go) and baking (got some great reviews from fellow crafters one Christmas that received my goodies as gifts / thank you gifts). I have been taught how to IF and absolutely love it (thank you jenx), and i self taught myself how to do faux arrangements with silk flowers both in the vase and in baskets. I like to do a variety of crafts but haven't done some of them in a long long time, right now i'm doing a little embroidery that seems to look just fine, i love to sew but don't have a machine as of right now. SHOOT...like everyone else i love to craft and have done a 'little of this-little of that' over the years. As you can see...I love to talk / chat ; ) Janel aka Scootchie

Hi Elizabeth, Your post is kinda small and lost between those of us big mouths. Welcome to CHAC . hope you enjoy our brand of fun. to answer your ques. or try to. When you are a "lifer" it means you have paid Xammount and do not have to renew. I am not sure if you have to be invited to be a life member or you can just deside on your own . I suggest you call coustomer service( #'s in the mag.) and they can give you all the info and it will be correct. I hope I have helped reather than muddy the water. I'm not Old, I've just been young for a very long time.

Hey, not all crafters are over 50! (But some days I feel it, LOL) New to the site myself, name is Stacey and I'll be 36 this year. I've been crafting since I was 8. Love to crochet, sew, scrapbook, beading, refinish old furniture, and do odd small crafts. I just don't have as much time as I'd like for my crafts, working 50+ hours some weeks. Stacey

Hello crafters, I am new to this community, my name is Karen, married 34 years, have 2 children 2 grandchildren. I live in Salem, CT. My list of crafts I have learned over the years is quite long. Knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, crewel, embroidery, calligraphy, tea bag folding, some scrapbooking, cross stitch, polymer clay beads, flowers, and figurines, floral design both fresh and silk. Designing and construction of dolls, their clothing, and of course our furry stuffed animals. I had a floral shop at one time, and all these things sure helped fill the place up. So my interests, are eclectic. Love to learn new things, guess that is why the list is so long. Now my reason for coming to this forum, Can anyone tell me if I can pay my subscription online? If so how??? Nice to see that there are so many in this club.

Hi,
I'm new to this group and I have a question. As I was setting up
my profile I noticed that you needed a URL for an Avatar or an
Image. The only URL I have is to my Web Site. Can I use
that or is there a way I can add a separate image by browsing? I
dont't see a way to do that. Most groups that I am a part of will
allow you to upload your own image. My URL to my web site has my
family photo on it, but it needs updating. Let me know.
Here is the file I would like to add.

WOW....a couple more newbies since i last checked this thread..... A VERY WARM WELCOME TO: Grammy J, Iris, & Alisa. You're going to love it here, give it some time and definitely 'surf' the complete BB so you can add 'info' here and there. You'll see alot of 'duplicate' postings under different threads so my advise is to check 'em all out then post accordingly. We are a bunch of warm natured ladies that love to chat amongst ourselves and exchange ideas and answer questions and offer suggestions. You'll find that this site is very addictive....BUT it's the legal addiction and you'll grow to love it ; ). I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better and finding someone amongst you all that likes the same crafts as I do (i don't do alot of different crafts) such as card making, KITCHEN- that would be cooking and baking, and faux flower arranging. I've recentlly learned how to decoupage and love it and I dabble in embroidery when my 'thumb' allows it LOL. Sometime in the future i'm going to invest in a sewing machine and then i'll be able to participate in the many crafts associated with 'sewing'. OH yeah and as you can tell....I love to talk/chat, so be aware ; ) ROFLMBO over and over! Hi! My name is Betty, a 65 year young, married grandmother living in FL. Using this forum is new to me and not sure if I can figure it out. Have been doing crafts all my life and very active with the decorating committee in the over 55 community where I live. In the last year my interest has been in paper tole and I don't see any information about this craft. Would like to know if there is anyone out there who does this craft. Thanks, BettyBoop1085

Hello Betty, and welcome to our group. We're always happy to see new people here. The first ???I have to ask is, "Where in Florida?" It appears our lives are running pretty well parallel right now. We're the same age (altho I've probably got at least a few months on you since my b'day is early in the year.), married, grandmother and Live in Fl 6 mos of each year. I also have done crafts since I was young and live in an over 55 where I am in charge of decorating. As for figuring out the way the boards work---don't worry. Just give a yell and someone will be here to help out. The best way to find out what's here is to wander about reading what's been posted and dropping into photobuckets to see what everyone has been making. I don't know offhand who does paper tole but I'm sure someone will speak up on that subject too. Enjoy your stay and make it a long one. Jenx Jenx’s PhotoBucket

Hey there! My name is Jandee, just joining you in Missouri. I am 33, married, stay-at-home mother of three (though only two of them live at home--long story). My craft interests change sometimes like the weather but my major interest right now is glass etching. I mean the kind done with a rotary tool, not etching cream (which I've never tried). I also love to knit, crochet, make jewelry, try origami, and just to sit and color. I am currently trying to start a glass etching business online but its not looking too hot. Good thing it is garage sale season and I can display my work that way otherwise my hobby takes over the entire house. Sorry to ramble, but I am glad to be here.

Hello, I'm new to this site as of today. I was in search of a site that had people excited about crafting as I am. Anyway, I am a 30 year old mom of three who is interested in scrapbooking and making cards. I live in Georgia and work as a full time first grade teacher. I hope to make many aquaintances as I work to become a great crafter! Sanura3 p.s Is this site safe to use real names?? Enjoy life and create something wonderful!

Welcome to the boards Gloria and Sanura3. Hmmm..don't know if its safe or not to use your real name or not...but I did. No one has bothered me yet. I just don't put my last name on here. And if you want to find out much from a person, just pm them. There is a blue button with the word "message" and thats how you pm someone. As for product testing...hmmm...thats a good question and we would all like to know..hehe but it goes on what you select when you sign up to do testing. There should be a place on the home page for that. surf around..you will find it. If I have missed anyone else...welcome to the boards...tell us about your crafts and we like pictures pictures pictures.

Hi, I'm from Western NY and just LOVE lilacs ~ hence the name "lilacgal". My favorite craft is Counted Cross Stitching and have many projects "in the works". Since I recently became disabled and "retired" from my job, I hope to be able to finish some of my projects. I am working on two different ones that are on navy blue Aida and can't work on them in the evening. Does anyone have any suggestions to make the "holes" easier on the eyes?
