What fun have you had with clay lately? What's your latest clay project?

I decided to post some of my latest clay projects. I'm loving the classes and find the medium allows me to be soooooo creative. I'm only sorry that we'll be going to Fl in two weeks and I have to leave it all behind until spring. The scroll is supposed to look like old parchment but the colors are so iffy that nothing looks as I intend. "Caed Mille Failte" is Irish and means "One Hundred Thousand Welcomes". The wine cooler is the closest to what I wanted. I'm quite pleased with it. I wrapped the clay around a piece of PVC pipe and made the grapevine appear to be coming out of the seam. The terra cotta clay shows thru the glazes in places. I don't know what to say about my "blue and yellow" fish. The terra cotta changes the color but he's nothing like I intended. I still like him and even spent lots of time making the coral so he wouldn't appear naked on the slab of marble. There's another coral piece on the other side. The leaf wall pocket is made to hold small vines or flowers. Daughter Dena chose the colors. They aren't what I'd have chosen but, surprisingly, I love them. Is that the same fish you showed us? I thought the other one was cool too. Like how it is mounted...that turned out really well. Don't remember the wine cooler. Got some little Fall doo dad to put in the pocket, will send a picture.
Good job!

Thanks Boop. Yes, it's the same fish but I finally finished his coral and mounted him on a stone slab that's been around here forever---I knew it would come in handy some day. The only bad part is that I allowed the Boss to handle the glue. Like most men, he feels, "If a little is good, a lot is great." I have to either scrape the excess off or spread epoxy over the entire base to give it a shine. The wine cooler was still "in the process" when you were here so I brought it and the coral home just last Wed. I kept intending to go downstairs and find some small ivy for the pocket but never got around to it. I'll be anxious to see what you've done with it. At least, Cat's ATC card is now hanging back where it belongs. I didn't like that it got preempted, even for a short time. I also intended to put a hanging wire on Judy's scroll but, if Brucee Baby can't handle it, I'm sure Judy can.
