WELL I haven't done it 'yet' this year but last year I took a bunch of assorted ferns and some 'pussy willows' and put them in a dark browninsh-orange vase for the diningroom table....it's the first thing you see when entering the house. It was a big hit with visitors & family so I just may do that again unless something else 'jumps out at me' when i'm in the craft store LOL Janel aka Scootchie

How about my 2 wreaths? I found some funky bushlike pieces in a clearance bin for only 15 cents. They looked pathetic but after a bit of TLC, I was amazed in the improvement and was able to use one in my grapevine door wreath. I made the patterns long ago for my Scarecrow wreaths. I've used him standing in a centerpiece and found he loves to sit in a straw wreath hanging on the door or wall. Those are cute Jenx,,,,have I seen them before, are they in your bucket & I just 'fizzed' out the memory? I was in Michaels on Sunday and (i'm very sad to say) nothing 'jumped out at me' like I was hoping. I did receive a very helpful phone call while I was there....thank you my sweet friend (Jenx) from CHAC!! So I guess i'm going to do the 'old faithfull' with the greens & pussywillows....which Michaels haven't gotten in stock yet....they said by this Sunday UGH I hope so!!

I just finished making a wreath using my ornamental gourds.. I like collecting ornamental gourds every holiday season to dry out and then just sit around or pack them up for next year. Or turn them into candle holders, candy dishes or whatever. This year though I decided to put all the vines in my yard to good use and made a wreath with them and then took the gourds and hooked them to it with wire along with some fake greenery and a big black crow. (Which I will be taking off after halloween so the wreath can hang for Thanksgiving.) I have it hanging on my front door right now. If you do go check out the pics on photobucket dont laugh at my door. It is full of scratches that I have tried to cover up with coffee, tea, minwax and it just isnt covering good. I hate to replace the old thing as it is about 100 years old. The house I live in was built in 1869 I hate changing anything. Check out the door knob and the hinges on this door are the old 2 part metal engraved. Aw I just love it and put up with the scratches. Cant bring myself to change the old beautiful thing.

hey there 'kemperneck' (sorry I don't see a first name to call you by), welcome. I love your ability to make something so usefull and attractive out of 'greenery' items. Have you considered sending that in as one of the 'recycled projects' in the mag? I'd check into it, i'm sure there's more then one contest that your wreath would fit into. Alas there's NO pussy willows yet or should I say anymore & they've not been restocked : (. I'm supposed to call Michaels on Friday to see if they're in yet. They had them very very cheap at the fall festival I went to a couple weeks ago but they lookd terrible. When I mentioned their appearance they offered to lower the price but that wouldn't have worked for me......I didn't want to go through all that for just a couple weeks if that long. I really want to make that arrangement by 'Turkey Day'. Well i'm on the boards for a limited time (have work to do) so I better 'surf around' and catch up. Janel aka Scootchie
