I might consider joining in & playing. I don't know what or how your ideas may be but I will tell you how I would like to play the game. I never joined the other ones because I didn't like the idea of people choosing their own names ...and more than one. I prefer that each player only have one name...and we don't get to pick the name...We all draw one name & as long as it's not your own...that's who you get. One person is all I can handle...which would still be ok for the previous games...But it seemed unfair that a person may be picked by more than 1 person & others not. I felt the previous games were too complicated. & not fair. Just my opinion....Donna/Pine Nut

What we had in mind was everyone sending a small gift to each player. We would make a list for each player with the names of the other players and each week you send to that person. Week one would be # 1 and Week 2 would be #2 and so on. We would make the list so that each player would receive a gift each week from someone. That way you don't have to get all the gifts for one person and we all get something from each player. ??????????? Are we could draw names but I don't know how we can draw unless someone draws for all. ??????Linda

That sounds good Tex...I agree, we cannot draw a single name all by ourselves via the inter-net. I think sending 1 gift to each participant is a good idea....We don't need to focus on one persons' likes...and it may be easier for us to craft/handmake the same kind of item X10 or whatever the number. (it would be for me) VS...a variety of things for one person...I like the idea...I think it affords us the possibility of at least send a hand crafted item to each person. Put it this way...I can make 10 things the same...for 10 people, a lot easier than trying to come up with 10 items for one person. what do you all think?

I'm ready too whenever you all are. I like the idea of making the same gift for every person. I just did an ornament exchange (you could always use more ornaments) Do we have a theme for this exchange? Or a type of gift to make? Or will it just me whatever everybody wants to make? This is exciting! Can't wait! I love surprises! So, how long do we wait for sign ups? I am ready to start.

So far we have about 7 who may play. That would be seven weeks. We will have to get started right away. Hope to have a sign up later today or tomorrow. I think any crafts or gift will be just fine. Linda

What I was thinking of making would not cost $5 a piece. I just don't want to come across as being chincy, but some items cost more to make than others.

If you are making it the cost of materials and labor will be fine. If you are buying the limit is $5.00 or around that amount. Okay. If you want in on this game I need you mailing address and email address so I can get the list ready to go this week. There are only 8 weeks til Christmas. If we have alot we may send more than one a week. Send me your info if you want in. Game closes on Friday.

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would like to join also but even though the cost of the gift itself is minimal the cost of postage is going to start adding up. So unless i'm incorrect we're talking $35 (seven people x $5) plus the cost of postage to ea & every person.....Am I missing something here because I really do want to join but don't want the cost to shoot me down in the middle. If Linda/Tex or Jenx/Martha would please please 'dope slap' the instructions to me if i've got it wrong, i'd really appreciate that.

I guess I need a dope slap too......so my question is...we have 7 players..possible...so we send a $5 gift to each player a week for 8 weeks? so $35 x8 weeks = $280

NO! NO! NO! Judy!  If that were true, I wouldn't be playing. You would be sending only ONE gift to each of the participants. Each player will get a different list telling who she will gift each week. They can all be the same thing or each one different. $5 is the MAX you may spend per person. If you make them they should have a maximum value of $5---no matter what you spend on supplies. The MOST you will need to put out is $35 plus postage. We're doing it this way to see if it's more fair to all and so I don't have to find 6/7/10 or 12 gifts to send to you. Seems I've had your name several times for our exchanges and I'm running out of ideas for you. If there was anything left, I've given it to you as a gift when we've met. I love you dearly but........ I'm just hoping I can come up with one more gift to send to you. Does that make it more clear?

Okay, I am definitely in on this, so how should we mail our gifts? regular mail or priority? does it matter?perhaps my gifts will be handmade, either quilted or constructed and sewn on the machine. I will make different colors for each person to make it more fun and individual. It will be something functional and personal. I just saw a pattern and I know you will all like them. Thank you Tex for recommending Karen to help me. She was a big help. Ladies, yesterday I went to my local library and they have free crochet/knitting classes so I brushed up on my skills and then went to Joanns to purchase some yarns and also the fabrics and supplies to make your gifts for the Christmas exchange.I am so looking forward to this. I bought several beautiful colors and I hope you all love what I am making especially for you even though I don't know your favorite colors. To me they were all beautiful. Have a blessed day ladies, I am getting ready to go to another library to check out their class. Then tonite, I will be teaching 6th graders how to work on the provo crafty knitter. Gotta keep all the lost arts alive for our future generation even though they have all these new gizmos.

I was thinking about how this will work...so the way it will be going, we cannot post on the BB what we got in the mail when our "gift" arrives can we? Otherwise we will be telling each other what they might be getting? It does seem weird to get the pkg in the mail & not be able to say to anyone what it is. I do still like the idea of having one person...But I will go along with this way too. Just wanted to see if I am thinking of this in the right way.

I posted before that if you want in send me your address and email addy. That is would be open until Firday. If any one wants in let me know now. We have 5 signed up so far. That will be four gifts each, and four weeks. We could start the week after Thanksgiving and that will give us time to make our gifts or what ever. Welcome Paula. We would love to have you in the game. As of right now I have 6 players. If no one else sends me their addy today we will have five gifts to do each. One for each player (not count yourself) That will be 5 weeks. I thing we should start the week of Nov 23 which will end the week of Dec. 21. If this is alright with everyone I will wait until tonight and tomorrow will email you your list.

Deb, I did get the package you sent and posted a very proper Thank You on the game 20 day 31 thread under round robins. I'm sorry if you didn't see it so I'll thank you again for all of the goodies. I appreciate everything. I'm still working on Lil's gift and will be sure to get it sent off before I go to the Dominican Republic. You are right Judy, there are nine players. Which means that each one of you will have to mail 8 gifts in 8 weeks. If anyone has a problem with this let me know now. Hey all! Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone. Glenwood is about 30 miles south of Hot Springs, if you know where that is. Had a busy day friday and did not get back on. Sounds like this is going to be fun. We could put the count to 2 each week for 5 weeks. I would not have a problem with that if the others don't. Any way waiting on info.

Okay everyone. Here we go. Thanks goes to Paula for the suggestion of 2 each week for 5 weeks. That is what we are going to do. Starting the week of Nov. 16.
