One-Egg Card
STEP 1: Cut foam egg. Rub the knife across the candle for easier cutting. Cut foam egg in half.

STEP 2: Cover egg. Cut a 4" square of brocade paper. Glue paper around egg, folding paper as needed to flatten it. Trim excess paper. Glue down paper edges on the flat side of egg.

STEP 3: Cover card. Cut a 5" x 7" piece of green gabardine paper. Glue paper to the front of the card.

STEP 4: Stamp message. Use the brown ink pad to stamp “Happy Easter” on gabardine paper. Cut a 2" square around the stamped image. Glue it on brocade paper. Cut a 1/4" border around the square. Glue the framed paper piece to the top center of the card.

STEP 5: Finish: Use large glue dots to attach the half egg to the center bottom of card. Use wire cutters to remove stems of the flower brads. Use small glue dots to attach brads above and below message.

Three-Egg Card
STEP 1: Cut foam eggs. Rub the knife across a candle for easier cutting. Cut two foam eggs in half. Cut a 1/4"- thick slice from the center of three egg halves. Discard rest of foam.

STEP 2: Cover eggs. Mix one part tacky glue with two parts water in a disposable bowl. Tear white tissue into small pieces. Dip tissue pieces into the mixture and cover the three egg slices, allowing the tissue pieces to wrinkle and overlap. When egg slices are dry, rub the edges and bottom of egg slices across the ink pad.

STEP 3: Make paper tops. With pencil, trace around the slices onto three different flower-patterned papers. Use scissors to cut out the shapes. Rub the edges of the paper shapes across the ink pad to darken them. Use small glue dots to attach them to the tops of the tissue covered egg slices.

STEP 4: Cover card. Measure and cut a 5" x 7" piece of striped paper. Rub the edges of the paper across the ink pad to darken them. Use the glue pen to attach paper to the front of the card. Measure and cut a 6" x 21/2" piece of the dots paper. Darken edges. Use the glue pen to attach it to the center of the card.

STEP 5: Make words. Attach letters to plain papers, alternating Robin Egg blue and Paper Bag brown papers to spell “happy easter.” Cut around each letter in lopsided squares and rectangles. Rub the edges of letters across the ink pad to darken them. Use the glue pen to attach them to top and bottom of the card.

STEP 6: Finish. Use large glue dots to attach the three paper-covered egg slices to the center of the card. Use small glue dots to attach a flower charm to the center of each egg slice.

One Whole Egg
STEP 1: Cover egg. Cut two 4" squares of brocade paper. Glue one square around half of the egg, folding paper as needed to flatten it. Trim excess paper. Glue second square around other half of egg in same way, overlapping edges of first square.

This is superb. Did the brocade motif on the egg come from a stamp out of walnut ink? or scrapbook paper from Urban Couture? Please advise. nice work.

I can't figure out what the background/card is created from? The directions are general. I can see color rendered, but--What is the source of the actual motif(s) on the card? stamp or pre-printed paper? from where? I'd like to see more of this designer's work.

Lamp Update

My four year old wanted a pretty lamp for her bedroom. I found a "Noah's Ark" lamp at a local Goodwill store for only 1.25, but it had no shade. I painted over the decals and bought a self-adhesive shade. It only took scrap material to cover it and a little trim to make it complete. My daughter loves her pretty lamp and in the future it will be easy to repaint and redo the shade to grow with her changing style.
