STEP 1: Cut & drill panel bases. Use saw to cut three 4" x 6" pieces from plywood. Sand edges. Use tack cloth to remove dust. Drill two 3/16" holes in each panel, approximately 3/8" from top and 1 1/4" from each side. Drill holes in same position at bottom of first and second panels only.

STEP 2: Paint panel bases. For lavender, mix purple and white paint. Use wash paintbrush to paint front surface of first panel. Recoat as needed. Repeat procedure on second and third panels using pink and yellow paints. Paint edges and back sides of all panels with green paint.

STEP 3: Make panel trim. Measure each side of first panel. Set Easy Cutter Ultimate tool to 90 degrees. Cut 1/8" x 3/16" basswood strips to match length of each side. Reset Easy Cutter tool to 45 degrees. Miter edges of all trim pieces to fit corners. Lightly sand all trim pieces. Use flat paintbrush to paint trim green. Recoat as needed. Glue trim to perimeter of panel base. Repeat step for remaining panels. Note: Once trim pieces are attached to bases, touch up outside edges with green paint.

STEP 4: Phrases and Photos. Use Easy Cutter Ultimate tool to cut three pieces of 1/16" x 2" plywood to 2" x 2 1/2" each. Sand all sides. For light green, mix green and white paints. Use flat paintbrush to paint each piece, recoating as needed. Type quotes of choice in dark green on computer and size to fit wood pieces. Print quotes on self-adhesive transparency. Cut to size and glue to plywood pieces. Trim excess transparency if needed. Glue photos and quotes to panels as shown.

STEP 5: Prepare dowel and connect panels. Use Easy Cutter Ultimate tool to trim dowel to 6" length. Paint green, recoating as needed. To connect panels, insert binder rings through drilled holes.

STEP 6: Add ribbon. Tie one 5" piece each of yellow, purple, and pink ribbon to each binder ring. Trim ends at a slant. Thread ends of remaining yellow ribbon through holes in top panel, from back to front. Tie each side of ribbon once around ends of dowel. Tie ribbon in a bow, with 3" tails. Trim ribbon ends at a slant.

Fall Foliage

I love to bring the outdoors inside, so I take advantage of the treasures I find during he fall season. I collect pine cones, acorns, leaves, and dried flowers of all kinds. I use them to decorate wreaths candle rings, cards, and table decorations. Sometimes I just put them into projects I’ve already finished—just to add a touch of autumn to my home for all of my fall entertaining.
