Appetizer Wreath
STEP 1: Cover wreath base.
Tear 1/2" strips from green mulberry paper. Slightly thin tacky glue with water. Use paintbrush to apply thinned glue to 1 3/16" x 5 7/8" wreath, one small area at a time. Wrap green mulberry paper strips around wreath, pressing into glue. When wreath is completely covered, brush on a final coat of thinned tacky glue.

STEP 2: Cover wreath top. Tear 1/2" x 12" strips from green striped paper. Hot glue end of one strip to 1 3/16" x 8 7/8" wreath. Wrap strip around wreath, slightly overlapping with each wind. Hot glue end. Continue attaching strips in same way until wreath is covered (Photo A).

STEP 3: Embellish with brads. For berries, insert three brads into wreath (Photo B). Create five clusters of three brads each, leaving space at bottom for bow.

STEP 4: Make bow. Crumple and unfold a full sheet of red print paper several times. Tear paper into two 1 1/2" x 10" length strips that narrow slightly at each end. Form a loop with each strip (Photo C) and hot glue ends together. To assemble bow, hot glue ends of loops together. For center, tear 1 1/2" x 3" strip and wrap around center of bow. Hot glue ends on back of bow. For tails, tear two 1 1/2" x 6" strips and hot glue ends to center back of bow. Tear V-notch in bottom of each tail. Center and hot glue bow to bottom of wreath.

STEP 5: Assemble and insert toothpicks. Place wreath on end and hot glue onto smaller mulberry-wrapped wreath base, securing with a couple of toothpicks.
Insert toothpicks around outer edge of wreath (Photo D). Just before serving food, fill toothpicks with cheese and meats. Note: Use dry foods so juice doesn't run onto wreath.

Wreath Bowl

Follow Steps 2 & 3 of Appetizer Wreath instructions to cover wreath with print paper strips. Place clear bowl inside wreath and fill with chips or crackers.

Napkin Ring

Follow Steps 2, 3, & 4 of Appetizer Wreath instructions to cover small wreath with 1/2" strips of either striped or print paper. Make small bows from 1/2" strips and use red brads for berries.

Necktie Tree Skirt

When my husband retired from his retail sales position, we were left with many Christmas ties. Instead of putting them in the Goodwill bag, my daughter suggested I make a tree skirt out of them, and so I did. I made and lined the skirt with the top side made of Christmas print velour and then proceeded to top-stitch the ties on the skirt with the pointed end of the ties extending beyond the edge of the skirt for extra interest.

I sewed a black bowtie onto each end and used the fastener on the bowtie for the closing. The top of the circle had rough edges, so I cut a bias strip of velour and en-cased the edges with the strip for a finished look.
