STEP 1: Cover small foam block. Use glue stick and Christmas Wrap paper to cover block, piecing at bottom. Piece paper on ends as needed.

STEP 2: Cut paper for large foam block. Use paper trimmer to cut the following:
- Green Swirl: 6 1/2" x 8"
- Christmas Wrap: 4" x 6 1/2"
- Red Swirl: 3" x 12" and 1" x 12"
- Holly Jolly Stripe: 3 1/2" x 12".

STEP 3: Attach paper to large foam block. Use glue stick to attach all papers to large surface of block, beginning with 12" x 12" Trim the Tree sheet as shown.

STEP 4: Add details. Use small scissors to cut out tree and gifts from second sheet of Trim the Tree paper, leaving a narrow green border around tree. Attach four gifts and three ornaments from Sticker Sheet to white cardstock. Cut out. Cut out "Happy Holidays!" and two swirls from Happy Holidays paper, leaving narrow borders. Apply dimensional circles behind "Happy Holidays!" phrase, tree, gifts, and ornaments and attach as shown.

STEP 5: Embellish. To embellish tree and gifts, thread and knot floss through buttons and glue to gifts. Use hand punch to make holes at top or ornaments. Run red polka dot ribbon through all three ornaments, connecting them. Glue red stitch ribbon around stripe paper and Red Swirl paper. Glue green grosgrain ribbon around outer border of block face and to separate Green Swirl and Christmas Wrap papers.

STEP 6: Attach base. Insert three round toothpicks into top of bottom block. Center top block over base and push down into place onto toothpicks. Reposition if needed.

STEP 7: Finish. Use glue gun to attach clothespins to picks. In a well-ventilated area, spray picks and clothespins with silver paint. Insert picks into edges of decorated foam block. Clip cards to clothespins to display.

Box up those old cards

I make gift boxes from old cards. A dinner plate was used to draw an arc on each end of the closed card. After cutting, I opened the card and placed it printed side down on a cutting mat. I then used the dinner plate to make an opposite arc in all four places, scoring the lines with a dry-embossing stylus. I close the card, tape the open straight edge with invisible tape, and voila! I simply fold the sides in to form a box suitable for small gifts such as jewelry or gift cards, which I wrap in tissue paper.
