STEP 1: Cut scarf pieces. Cut sleeves off sweater. Cut sweater seams open and straighten shoulder ends and sides. Cut 6" x 32" piece from bamboo batt. Cut off crocheted front of sweater. From crocheted sweater front, cut two 3" circles for sweater closure and two swirls or curved pieces the same size as the leaf for scarf ends. For closure, cut one 3" x 10" sweater piece. Cut center sweater piece 6" x 32". Note: Combine two pieces if needed. For leaves, cut ten from bamboo and ten from remaining sweater piece. For roses, cut five 1 1/2" x 10" strips from remaining sweater piece.
STEP 2: Make scarf: Layer and pin sweater and bamboo strip right sides down. Sew elastic down center of bamboo and sweater layers, stretching elastic as you stitch (Photo A). Trim off excess elastic. With right sides together, sew one scarf sleeve end to either end of scarf center.
STEP 3: Make roses & leaves. Fold and roll rose strip toward you (Photo B). Roll completely to end and secure with a couple of stitches in bottom of rose. Repeat for remaining rose strips. Layer sweater and bamboo leaves slightly off center in pairs.
Stitch down center of leaf pulling stitches slightly to create dimensional wavy leaf (Photo C). Repeat for all leaf pairs. Use hot fix tool to attach five gold studs to center of each leaf. Lay scarf flat right sides up. Sew or glue alternating roses and leaves across sweater ends as shown. Add crocheted elements and apply hot-fix studs to elements. Add buttons singly and in clusters among leaves.
STEP 4: Make closure. Fold scarf closure piece in half lengthwise with right sides together. Sew center seam leaving 2" opening. Insert ends of 2" elastic loop in one end. Sew across ends. Turn right side out and sew opening shut. Sew button on opposite end of loop. Glue or sew crocheted circle to center edge. Glue or sew crocheted circle to center front of closure. Glue or sew two leaves under either side of circle. Glue rose to center of circle. Glue feathers in between leaves. Glue remaining buttons and jewelry pieces to closure.
